Today.com has a page rank of 5 and allows you to set up your own blog using a sub domain like “username.today.com”. I would like to hear from the serious seo pros out there about the real seo mechanics behind this.
My question is this. Am I relly getting good link juice from Today.com’s page rank 5? When I do a site:myusername.today.com Google doesn’t even show that it is indexed. That is where my links are. I do know that pages are ranked not websites neccessarily. Although they are dofollow links does it really matter because the page they are linking off of are not ranked?
Interesting – if I take their “fastest growin blog” (middleofnowhere) and run the site command with it (site:middleofnowhere.today.com) I do get 113 results…
Question – how old is this sub domain you created, which you are not getting indexed on?
It’s actually not that old. March 24th 2009. Using the Mozilla Firefox browser and SEOBook.com’s SEO plugins, it shows that the links are dofollow. I should just wait a bit longer plus start linking to it from other sites.
Nice post! GA is also my biggest earning. However, it?s not a much.
